My Love Affair with the Kindle 3

It all started when I searched for books to buy on the internet. I came across this advertisement about electronic readers and just got carried away. The biggest draw for me with an ebook reader is that I can do away with physical books which take up a lot of space and are also pretty heavy to lug around. Now I can have my entire library in one lightweight, stylish and sleek device that I can easily slip into my handbag.

Before I decided to purchase the Kindle 3, I scoured the internet for all the facts and figures about it. I made comparisons with other ebook readers like Sony and Nook. Basing on all the reviews I have read, I just simply could not help falling in love with my new wireless Kindle reading device.

The rubber backing on my Kindle makes it so comfortable to hold and it never gets hot in my hands, even after prolonged reading. The high-contrast screen using the latest E Ink technology makes reading on the Kindle just like reading on printed paper, perhaps even better contrast than most physical books. With no backlighting, there is no glare from the screen compared with reading from other LCD screens. There is no strain on the eyes even after long hours of reading.

The page turn on my Kindle 3 is speedy and the buttons are quiet and conveniently located on both sides of the device.

If you are like me and love listening to background music as you read, you can easily transfer MP3 files to your Kindle by USB from your computer.

Buying books is a breeze. It takes less than a minute to have the book delivered to my Kindle via Wi-Fi or 3G. The Kindle Store has thousands of titles to select from. Do you know that you can even get some books free, mainly out-of-copyright, pre-1923 titles such as Pride & Prejudice, Treasure Island, etc.?

My Kindle 3 has got 4 GB of storage space. As I am also a music lover, I use it to store some of my favourite music too.

All said and done, my love affair with the Kindle 3 is going to last for a long time.
